Variation 2

In variation 2 a part of the potential energy is stored by highly buoyant bodies which are connected to the floating platform and redirected on the seabed. This mechanism acts contrary to the sways of the water and therefore keeps the hydraulic energy storage plant stable.

In turbine operation mode the structure is lowered in a controlled motion and energy is released. In pump operation mode electrical energy is converted into potential energy and stored while the whole structure rises against gravity.
